Encounter

Encounter is the Church of St. Timothy's podcast-style audio conversations series on faith. Episodes are around fifteen minutes and invite you to learn about and reflect on the intersection of faith, life, and service. Whether you attend Mass regularly, come on occasion, or are simply curious, we invite you to listen in and join the conversation! 

Our first episode series, released in September and October, will focus on the Global Synod on Synodality and the themes of communion, participation, and mission that will be explored at the October 2023 Synod assembly in Rome.

• Father Joe Whalen shares in the first episode about the meaning of the word "synod," the challenge to become a listening Church, and what this means for the life of the Church today.
• Anne Attea, missioner and Hispanic minister, shares in the second episode about mission, the significance of baptism, and the current discernment around women's roles in Catholic ministry. 
• Sister Catherine Michaud, CSJ speaks about the Second Vatican Council, a significant meeting that shapes how we experience and live as the People of God today, and how it relates to the Synod on Synodality.
• Aaron Sinner, a young adult from our Archdiocese, and Rhonda Miska, Director of Communications, both travelled to Rome during the Synod assembly. In this episode, they share some of the graces of their pilgrimages and insights from engaging with Synod delegates. 
• Dr. Cynthia Bailey Manns, one of 54 women in the world selected by Pope Francis to serve as a voting member at the Global Synod on Synodality, describes her experience at the October 2023 assembly in Rome and also shares about sharing with Pope Francis about Sister Thea Bowman.
