First Sacraments

The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis has established the following requirements in order for an individual to receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. 

• A child must be at least seven years old as of September 1 (may be older)
• The child must be enrolled in and attending approved religious education class for their grade level

First Reconciliation Requirements:

• Sufficiently prepare the child using the resources provided by the parish including:
  • Three preparation sessions for children and parents
    • Sundays, January 25, February 1, February 8; 9:15-10:15 a.m.

 
First Eucharist Requirements:

• A child must have celebrated First Reconciliation.
• Child and a parent or guardian are expected to attend Sunday Mass each weekend
• A certificate of baptism must be provided for the child
• Sufficiently prepare using the resources provided by the parish including: 
  • Four preparation session for children and parents
    • Sundays, March 1, 8, 15, 22; 9:15-10:15 a.m.
